An unlikely dinner

It all started at a dinner event with a group of people with very diverse backgrounds: the Businessman, the CSR idealist, the Psychologist, the HR-manager, the Research coordinator from MENSA, the Management consultant and the Meditation teacher.

A room with a lot of bottom lines
From a Professional standpoint, each person at the table had a different view or perspective of how to impact the bottom line.
The individual perspectives were based on a common understanding of business drivers such as Profit, Productivity and Efficiency. However, we did not agree on which influencers to those business drivers were the most important. 

Celebrating diversity
How much influence on a corporations bottom line can be attributed to the personnels overall state of Well-being?
Could we as a group arrive at a consensus about how to strike a balance between investing in personnel Well-being vs. Profitability?
Could we as a group be able to define a ROI based model for using Contemplative practices, Positive psychology, Neuroscience and genuine HR/CSR integration to achieve increased Profitability?
An exciting and challenging discussion ensued!

A merging of ideas
It was not until when the group started to look at ourselves as individuals, in a holistic manner, assessing and looking at their whole lives, not merely the time they spent at work, that it became possible to start breaking out the major influencers that directly correlated with when we felt the best and when we were the most engaged, focused and efficient.

The answer was simple; we all performed at our best, in all aspects of our lives, when our sense of purpose was strong and our individual Well-being was at the forefront.

The birth of an initiative
It was in the early morning hours on this unlikely dinner that the foundation for Empaticus was laid. We decided to create a company focused on the individual, the person, and the support each and everyone of us need in order to continuously and sustainably develop as human beings across all facets of our lives; both personally and professionally.

It all starts with well-being
By allowing the individual to thrive on a personal level;
direct work relationships and corporate cultures are quantifiable impacted, including areas such as HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) in such a positive manner that productivity, and talent retention naturally improves.
